Feed The Need

• What are the main issues associated with the Feed the Need video?

         The main issue is that the Kids in New Zealand is not getting the right nutrition they need to                   survive through out the day and is also suffering to attend schools to get an education. 

• Who do the issues impact?

       The issue is impact on mostly the kids and especially the parents because they don't have the                  money they need to get their children to school with lunch and having the opportunity to actually            feed them without no worries. 

Thank you for presents

Seeing heaps of sacks full of presents coming into the hall was exciting. My eyes couldn't stop thinking what could be inside the wrap. Shaking it carefully I could hear heaps of stuff inside making noises. I couldn't wait to take it home and open it. Everybody around me were suspicious what they had inside the wrap. So when I got home I ripped my wrap open and inside was a Decorative Birthday Card.

Thank you to the Variety Club , Motat, Johnson and Johnson. I appreciate what you got for me and I really enjoyed it very much. I will always cherish it and treasure it so that I remember you!

Farewell Point England School

First when I started at Point England I was scared and thought no one was my friend. Crying my eyes out I didn't know where I was when I first started.  But when I met my teacher Mrs Lal she really helped me through the day. Also seeing other little kids coming in really put a smile on my face.

Through out the year many teachers had helped my conquer through 8 years at Point England School. I would like to say thank you to all Point England School teachers. You really cared for me and I loved it. Thank you very much!

I have learnt many things and I enjoyed learning new stuff. Also hanging around at school with my friends. Also thank you to Miss King I will miss you next year and I would like to say thank you for helping me make an effort this year.

Reflection Netbook 2013

My Reflection:
For the past 3 years, we have had enjoyed our time on our new netbooks. Learning new things and discovering what we can do on these netbooks. I have enjoyed my time using this new digital. Also making other new things and playing with it. Everytime I log into my netbook it makes me smile and happy.

What I have learnt about on my netbook is to not be rough with it and let it go to waste. Also to keep it nice and good so that it contains at a good level. Also to always leave it where you can see it and not leave it somewhere alse. Make sure you have your NEtbook bag and charger ready to get checked at the end of the year.

A netbook is like a bestfriend to me and I wont leave it by itself all day. Netbooks are like my favorite thing I like to go on when I come to school. Thank you for all the people who made us get netbooks.

Nelson Mandela

Nelson had sadly past away on the 6th December Friday 2013. When Nelson passed away it was a sad day for everyone.

Nelson Mandela was first brought up in a land of sheep and cattle. Nelson was a young man who had many dreams ahead of them, Nelsons catch was "I was born to be free.” Before he was being called Nelson, his name real name was Rolihlahla. But his teacher Miss Mtgine wanted a christian name for him because each student had to have a christian name. After Nelson had finished a conversation with his teacher, his teacher decided to name him ‘Nelson.’

When Nelson was older he achevied his law studies, and had joined the African National Congress (ANC). Nelson Mandela said that the ANC’s task was to unite and build a nation out of the people in South Africa. When South Africa had a new government he was a white man and he never shared the land equally between the South Africans. All the europeans were taking over the land. So this was when Nelson Mandela stood up for himseld and protested peacefully. But all the government did was kill them and through them to prison.

Nelson Mandela was one of those people who was locked in prison for 27 years for refusing the pro-apartheid government. After Nelson was set free, he worked to achieve human rights. Nelson became the First Black President in South Africa. Meaning for all people of South Africa to have freedom for a good future. He was born in 1918 and had spent time in prison from 1962-1990. Now Nelson Mandela will always be in our hearts. Nelson was a big inspiration person to mostly everyone.

Camp Happiness

Putting our bags on the bus ready to go I knew that it will be a long drive so I put my self in place and we were finally off. Feeling excited I couldn’t wait to get there. During the way when we were all in our seats it really smelt disgusting. Looking out through the window the views were amazing. Also eating on the bus was cool.

My first highlight was going to my cabin and settling down. Also seeing all the other kids from other schools was quite surprising. Running to the playground and playing on the swings while laughing at people. On the side of the playground was a small play house it was wobbly and was out of space when I first went in. It was a bit to small for me so I went out and saw people playing on the field laughing and having fun, today was the first day I could ever be happy.

My second highlight was going on the Luge Ride and going on the skyline. The skyline was cool because the view was nice. When I went down on the Luge was hard to control. The luge ride was going super fast and was scary because I nearly crashed into Sesalina. But the funny part was when the lane got more skinnier and the luges were bumping onto the curves and was a bit annoying. Then going up on the chairlift was cool but it was a bit scary whenever it stopped.

But at the end of the day of camp was sad. Everyone didn’t want to go back to school but we had no choice. Thank you Keswick Christian Camp for you lovely food and for letting us have a nice 3 days. THANK YOU KESWICK CHRISTIAN CAMP!

Swimming Recount

We got the opportunity to swim at the Glenn Innes YMCA pools. Learning how to swim was a big experience. I need to work more on my arms and my kicking. Also breathing under water, it was the best time!!

 To our instructor in the middle pool: I would like to say to all of you that you were the best instructors. You were fun and hard on us sometimes (but I loved it). Thank you very much!!

Inspiring Person - Mosa Mafileo

Meeting new inspiring people who might make me change into a real person was cool. But what made me really interested was listening to Mosa Mafileo speak to all the year 8’s gave me an inspiring person and what I really want to become. He was funny at the same time but was very well educated as an impolitic, he also works with Len Brown. One day he said to us that he would love to become the Pasifik Board Of Trustees leader to help all islanders who are suffering out there. The way that Mosa talked to us he really wanted to get us out there and wanted us to be leaders. But what Mosa said really made me happy he said ‘to get your dream you have to catch it’ and that was my plan when I go to college next year.

My dream is to become a really good fashion designer. But what I really need to work hard on is to keep listening and not to get bored of teachers, when they are trying to help us through life. I want to experience what it would be like if my designer clothes could go on magazine and in very special shops. I want to design for famous people and for myself.

‘I want to catch my dream and turn it into reality’.

The dolphin Tale

“Hahahaha, look at that whale” giggled Wallie. The whale turned it’s face and gave a fierce look. There were rocks beside Wallie so Wallie and his friends began throwing rocks at the whale. “This is boring I want to go, come guys lets go” said Wallies friend. “Don’t go we're having fun here” replied Wallie. “Hahahahahaha, this is not fun” teased wallies friend and off they went giggling at Wallie. “We’ll I’ll show you fun” pressured Wallie as he threw the last rock at the whale. Wallie got closer to the whale and was teasing him.

The whale was angry at the dolphin and ate him in one gobble. Wallie was scared, he cried and cried asking for help but no-one could hear him. Wallie was sad. Then wallie had a plan. He bumped into the whale’s stomach. “Stop, bumping into my stomach you might make me vomit!” the whale demanded. Wallie had a great idea “If I keep on hitting him he will vomit and then I will be set free” Wallie thought to himself. Wallie kept on smashing into the whale’s stomach until he saw food coming out and wallie swam away. “You shouldn’t have done that! Now you have really pushed my buttons!” the whale angrily said.

Zig-zagging and dodging, Wallie was scared so he swam as fast as he could but everytime he looked back, the whale would be there. Wallie was puffed out and he was nearly there. He ran straight  to his owner and the whale was coming down at a fast pace. “Come on, lets go” determined the princess. “Where are we going” asked Wallie. “We’re going to  the king, my dad” replied the princess in a scared voice. The princess mermaid and Wallie swam all the way to the king while the whale was chasing them.

“STOP” said the king “What’s Happening?”. Wallie and the princess we’re talking so fast the king didn't understand what they were saying. “Take a deep breath and tell me now” the king was getting angry. “A WHALE IS CHASING US” yelled Wallie and the princess. The whale was here and the king went out they were talking. Wallie and the princess heard mumbling but they didn’t understand them that much. The king was angry and yelled “WALLIE COME HERE NOW”. “Good luck” whispered the princess. “Say Sorry, now wallie” demanded the king. “I am sorry for being mean and annoying to you, I won’t do it again, I hope you will forgive me” Wallie apologized. “Next Time you should not do that again and i will forgive you” the whale answered.

Wallie went inside and the king said “You know if you have trouble with your friends you don’t take it out on someone else”, “You saw me right” asked Wallie. “I sure did and you have many other friends welcomed to you” the king said. Wallie walked off in a sad face, he thought to himself ‘I will never be mean or hurt other people and make trouble’. Wallie snuggled under his sheets resting his head for another adventure the next day.

Turuhira Thanksgiving Story

In 1863 the first thanksgiving was celebrated on the 26th November. Pilgrims and American Indians was the first people to celebrate thanksgiving day. There president in the U.S on 1863 was Abraham Lincoln who thought of celebrating the event. Thanksgiving is a popular event in the U.S, people love to celebrate this kind of event.

This year different countries who are popular with this historical event are celebrating thanksgiving in the U.S in Canada and in Liberian. 2013 date for the united states would be on November 28. In Canada thanksgiving was celebrated in October 14th November 2013. Liberian celebrate thanksgiving in November 7th 2013.

Liberians, Canada and U.S loves to celebrate Thanksgiving because it was very popular. Liberians celebrated the event back in the days also Canada and U.S also did. Thanksgiving is celebrated to give thanks to God and Americans for freeing the slaves and granting them Liberia in Africa to live as free men. Thanksgiving is also an opportunity for Liberians to recognize the good things that life has to offer them, even though the country has been troubled by internal conflicts.

The origins of Canadian Thanksgiving are more closely connected to the traditions of Europe than of the United States. Long before Europeans settled in North America, festivals of thanks and celebrations of harvest took place in Europe in the month of October. The very first Thanksgiving celebration in North America took place in Canada .
